We, as a team, believe are the most pressing issues facing Marlboro Township today. After speaking with countless residents, listening on local forums, and living the same daily realities as our neighbors, we’ve identified three major priorities:
● Overdevelopment
● Roads & Infrastructure
● Fiscal Transparency & Responsibility
First and foremost, we want to emphasize: we’re not career politicians. We are residents, business owners, parents, and professionals who are deeply invested in the future of this community. We’re stepping up because we care—and we’re bringing the skills, experience, and accountability Marlboro needs.
Our team came together not through politics, but through shared concern. As longtime residents, parents, and business owners in Marlboro, we saw a growing disconnect between the voices of the community and the direction of our local government. We’re not running out of ambition—we’re running out of obligation.
Despite a 3–2 Republican majority on Council, we’ve seen growing concerns with how the township is being governed.
We respect the time and effort our incumbent Republican officials have given. But we believe Marlboro deserves a fresh perspective, one rooted in accountability, transparency, and proactive leadership. We’ve listened to our neighbors, attended meetings, read the comments online, and heard the same message over and over: people feel unheard, and real issues are being ignored or downplayed.
We are not here to play politics. We are here to lead objectively and responsibly. Every decision we make will be grounded in facts and analysis—not emotion, not personal agendas. We will work collaboratively with other municipal officials, regardless of party, to do what’s right for the people of Marlboro.
Marlboro has long been known as a safe, family-friendly town—a place that feels like home. But that character is changing. Overdevelopment is straining our roads, our schools, and our quality of life. Residents are increasingly concerned about overcrowded classrooms, rising traffic, and a loss of that "Mayberry" feel that brought so many of us here.
If elected, we will work to ensure that all new developments are subject to rigorous planning, proper community input, and accountability. We will:
● Push for impact studies before approving new projects.
● Coordinate with the Board of Education on school capacity planning.
● Advocate for traffic safety upgrades—like traffic lights or widened roads—where needed.
● Partner with local law enforcement to assess safety concerns around any proposed developments.
Growth must be smart, measured, and in line with Marlboro’s long-term vision.
Drive through Marlboro, and you’ll see it—or feel it: potholes, patch jobs, and decaying infrastructure that never seems to be fully fixed. The current system of reactive maintenance isn’t working.
As council members, we’ll bring a proactive, results-driven approach. We will:
● Audit all existing infrastructure contracts for quality, performance, and accountability.
● Work to modernize our maintenance reporting and tracking systems.
● Prioritize long-term fixes over temporary patches.
Residents deserve safe, well-maintained roads—not costly tire replacements and endless delays.
Every household in Marlboro is feeling the financial strain—rising taxes with little explanation or accountability. We believe the residents deserve to know exactly where every dollar is going.
Our team includes seasoned business professionals with backgrounds in analytics, auditing, and fiscal management. We will:
● Conduct a comprehensive review of township expenditures, line by line.
● Seek efficiencies—not cuts—to maintain services while reducing waste.
● Provide clear, accessible reporting for residents so you know how your money is being spent.
We’re not interested in empty promises. We’re focused on making smarter decisions—rooted in data, transparency, and accountability—that make your tax dollars go further. We believe in servant leadership, and we are committed to putting Marlboro’s residents first. If elected, we won’t just talk about solutions—we’ll deliver them, with honesty, diligence, and teamwork.
While we recognize Marlboro’s affordable housing obligations, the current administration—through its appointees to the planning and zoning boards—has failed to properly mitigate the growing traffic and congestion resulting from unchecked development.
Our Solution:
● Demand greater developer accountability for infrastructure upgrades tied to new projects.
● Push for stricter county oversight and enforcement when development impacts county roadways and traffic flow.
● Prioritize planning that protects our quality of life and avoids overwhelming our schools and roads.
Marlboro’s total municipal debt (including authorized but unissued) now stands at over $108 million, or roughly $2,612 per resident. In 2024 alone, nearly $7 million is due in principal and interest payments. On top of that, we face $160 million in unfunded capital project liabilities.
Our Solution:
● Propose a binding resolution to limit short-term municipal borrowing to no more than 2% of the annual budget.
● Shift more funding for capital projects to current accounts to reduce long-term borrowing.
● Pursue shared services and stricter cost controls to bring down project costs.
The 2024 municipal budget is up 7.59%, raising serious concerns about fiscal discipline and planning. Residents are paying more without seeing improvements in services.
Our Solution:
● Call for an independent, one-time efficiency audit of township operations by a qualified outside consultancy.
● Develop multi-year cost-saving recommendations focused on budgeting, tax stabilization, debt reduction, and workforce optimization.
We’re not here to make vague promises. We’re offering specific, measurable solutions. Marlboro needs leadership that’s not afraid to challenge the status quo—even within our own party. That’s why we’re stepping up.
